Abstract:
Development of an Industrial Park (IP) Layouts has to be grouped adequately for seamless traffic if and only if all layouts are being grouped adequately into workable percentiles. There should be a template design for all the layouts in an Industrial Park design. By considering attributed factors of an Industrial Park, this research developed a system model that grouped allocation of Industrial Development plan for Land allocated space: Plant Building Layout and Supporting Layouts. The Plant Building Layout comprises of Industrial Buildings areas and Road networks areas. The Supporting Layouts comprises of Commercial Centers, Cars and Lorry Parks Centers, Recreational centers and Utilities and Service Stations. From visitation to different isolated industries, a model was developed and data was collected from five industries at different isolated geographical region to validate. From the computed results, the following average percentages were established: Commercial Center 5% of IP acreage; Cars and Lorries Park Centers as 10% of IP acreage; Recreational Centers as 4% of IP acreage and Utilities and Service Stations as 11% of IP acreage. The total supporting layouts made 30% of the acquired Land, while real Plant Building Layout took 70%. This percentage template layouts served as a tool which guided an Investor in developing a seamless and workable Industrial Park Layout. All the layouts were linked together and economically established when combined to form a single IP. KEYWORDS: Industrial Park (IP), Plant Building Layout, Supporting Layouts, Percentage.

Abstract:
Poultry feed cost represents a significant part of operational cost of poultry production. Consequently, efficient feed formulation practice is required for a sustainable poultry production. Many poultry farmers, employ inefficient methods like rule of thumb and intuition to handle feed formulation problem. This paper presents the report of the development of a feed formulation model which can be used to harness the potentials of locally available feed stuffs toward producing a balanced poultry feed. To achieve this aim, a hybrid Tabu-Genetic Algorithm Model ((TAM) was developed for layers mash feed formulation as case study. Thirteen (13) decision variables and eight (8) constraints were identified and used in the research. Secondary data were collected from the recommended nutrient requirements schedule made available by both the Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture and the Freedom Feed Mill (a local feed miller) in Akure, South-West Nigeria. Based on this data, the optimal solution of the TAM developed for the layers mash produced a balanced feed at reduced cost.

Abstract:
The flow of network traffic on business and academic networks has been on the increase. This necessitates the issue of proper management of traffic network flow in order to ensure optimum performance. Network analysis looks at certain performance measures with a view to gaining insight into the pattern of flow in the network. This research employs a queuing model and regression technique to analyse the performance of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) network. Traffic data flows were captured over a period of four weeks using Wireshark capturing tool at different strategic locations in the campus. The arrival rate and service rate were used to obtain the intensity of traffic at these locations. Analysis of the data assisted in determining the variability in the traffic flow. The major contribution of this research is that it developed an empirical model that identified variables that significantly determines network traffic. The model could assist network administrators to monitor, plan and improve on the quality of service.

Abstract:
Cyber security is among the most complex and rapidly evolving issues and has been the focus of organizations, researchers and government of nations. Cyber security is the preservation of confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in the Cyberspace. Cyber security risk management is the process of managing or reducing potentially harmful and uncertain events that posse as threats to cyber security. It involves looking at what could go wrong on the cyber space and deciding on ways to prevent or minimize their occurrences or effects. The advancement in technology has allowed for the management of cyber risk from Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to Fog Computing. In this research, a detailed literature review is presented on the work done in the area of cyber security risk management on these computing concepts. An overview of the key features of the concepts is given and a systematic strategy towards addressing the shortcomings is then introduced. Finally, some future research issues especially on cyber security risk management in the concept of Fog computing are discussed

Abstract:
The paper proposes a new iris recognition method based on canny edge detection, Hough transform, pseudopolar coordinate, wavelet transform and chi-square algorithms. The iris image is firstly converted to greyscale before the edge detection, segmentation, normalization, feature extraction and feature matching operations are performed in sequential order. Feature extraction module uses wavelet transform-based approach to extract standard iris features while the feature matching module relies on chi square algorithm for reference and template-based feature matching. Analyses of the experimental results revealed satisfactory performance of the new method and its dependence on the quality of the hardware used for image acquisition. Comparison of obtained results with those from some existing iris recognition systems showed competitiveness and superiority of the new method.

Abstract:
In any power generation and distribution system, a continuous balance must be maintained between electrical generation and varying load demand, while the system frequency, voltage levels, and security must all be kept constant and the cost of generation maintained at minimal level. Numerous classical techniques such as Lagrange, linear programming, non-linear programming and quadratic programming-based methods have been proposed for attaining these objectives. The attendant weaknesses to these methods include economic dispatch probleminduced non-optimal power flow and cost increment. Classical approach-based solution to the economic dispatch problem suffered some limitations, which include restriction to the local minima while the cost functions show non-convex or piecewise discontinuity in the functional space. Furthermore, treatments of operational constraints are very difficult using the classical approach. This paper reports on the formulation of a Genetic Algorithm (GA)-based model as a solution to the problems of economic power dispatch. The model considered GA as numerical optimization algorithms based on the principle inspired from the genetic and evolution mechanisms observed in natural systems and population of living being. The implementation of the model produced an application whose performance evaluation on power demand and transmission loss of three power generating systems and three Nigerian Thermal Power Plants showed superior performances of the new model over some existing ones.

Abstract:
Recent development in the telecommunication industry in Nigeria has brought about an unprecedented upsurge in the use of Information Technology for teaching and learning in tertiary institutions of most part of the developed countries of the world. However, the adoption and implementation of web-based course management and learning tool (Moodle) in most developing countries like Nigeria is still in the infancy. In this paper, we utilize the modified versions of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model in explaining elearning adoption in higher education in a developing country and evaluate the size and direction of the impacts of the UTAUT factors on behavioral intention and use behavior to adopt elearning in higher education. The data were obtained through a web survey of students of two universities in Nigeria and the models are estimated in a structural equations modelling framework using Lisrel 8.8. The entire UTAUT construct with their relationships are confirmed using the confirmatory test statistics. The results suggest that, it is well established that the latent variables significantly explain the Venkatesh model.

Abstract:
It has been observed that most conventional operating systems could not cope with the scheduling of multimedia tasks owing to the large size of these files. For instance, processing of multimedia tasks using the traditional operating systems are fraught with problems such as low quality of service and delay jitters. In order to address these problems, a scheduling algorithm christened hybrid genetic algorithm for multimedia task scheduling (HGAMTS) was developed. It employed heuristic knowledge of the problem domain to model a hybrid genetic algorithm in a multiprocessor environment. The system is made up of the scheduler model and the task model. The scheduler model consist a centralized dynamic scheduling scheme. In this scheme, all tasks arrive at a central processor (scheduler). The model has a minimum of five and maximum of ten processors. Attached to each processor is a dispatch queue.

Abstract:
Iris recognition system consists of image acquisition, iris preprocessing, iris segmentation and feature extraction with comparism (matching) stages. The biometric based personal identification using iris requires accurate iris segmentation for successful identification or recognition. Recently, several researchers have implemented various methods for segmentation of boundaries which will require a modification of some of the existing segmentation algorithms for their proper recognition. Therefore, this research presents a 2D Wavelet Transform and Chi-squared model for iris features extraction and recognition. Circular Hough Transform was used for the segmentation of the iris image. The system localizes the circular iris and pupil region and removes the occluding eyelids and eyelashes. The extracted iris region is normalized using Daugman’s rubber sheet model into a rectangular block with constant dimensions to account for imaging inconsistencies. Finally, the phase data (iris signature) from the 2D wavelet transform data is extracted, forming the biometric template. The chi-squared distance is employed for classification of iris templates and recognition. Implementing this model can enhance identification. Based on the designed system, an FAR (False Acceptances ratio) of 0.00 and an FRR (False Rejection Ratio) of 0.896 was achieved.
